I had a great evening at My Cooking Party. The chef was warm and talkative, I ended up meeting some very fun people who were all busy drinking wine and rolling pasta with me.
The food is excellent, but it's the warm small group environment of people having fun and working together that makes it so different from going out to a restaurant for dinner. http://recipes.wikia.com

We purchased My Cooking Party at our children’s' pre-school auction. The idea sounded really fun; to cook with a chef while socializing with friends. We were excited to try it out!
My Cooking Party was a great way to entertain without having to do any of the work, and ultimately being served a 5-star meal at the end of the experience! The crew even did most of the cleaning up! I couldn't believe how many items were on the menu to choose from when putting together my dinner. It was difficult to choose a menu because there were so many items that looked so good. Chef Meller was professional to work with in the planning stages, as well as at my home. He had a good sense of humor and was adept at teaching both cooking novices and cooking pros how to prepare a great meal. This was our first experience and it was a hit with us and our guests. For those who didn't cook, it was a fun beginner's course. And for those who already cooked, it was valuable information to use each night in the kitchen. Both the men and the women enjoyed it a lot! I wanted to take a moment to tell you what a fantastic time my friends and I had at our cooking party last night.
We learned quite a few techniques and recipes that we'll remember for a lifetime. We also enjoyed the intimate setting of your 51st Street loft. It really felt like a dinner party; Music, wine, good conversation AND a fantastic meal; All which could not have been made possible had it not been for your warm and knowledgeable chef, Liron Meller. Life should always be so wonderful. Look for my email reserving a seat for another class in the very near future.

My experience with hiring a chef from My Cooking Party was so positive in every way possible, that I can't wait to make another party with them.
From the initial steps of choosing a menu to the actual presentation of the meal, I felt very much a part of the entire process without any of the stress. I was able to serve my guests a beautifully prepared gourmet meal (the caliber of which you see in very few high end restaurants) in the intimacy of my own home, and sit and enjoy it. I was able to also watch and learn while the cooking was being done so if I wanted a free cooking lesson, I had one. All in all, the chef and his staff were more than pleasant and the entire experience was one I'm looking forward to repeating.

I was throwing myself a 50th birthday party. Okay, technically it was a soirée. After all, I had just transformed my apartment into this modern urban hangout and I had hit the mid-century mark. It was a landmark night for me and I wanted everything to be perfect.
The guest list consisted of 40 of my favorite people. Some artists, some performers, but mostly advertising types like myself. I wanted the food to be beautiful, easy to eat and memorable (in a good way). I scoured the web - jumping from site to site feeling as if I was running in place. The catering options all seemed so predictable, uninteresting and expensive until I happened upon MyCookingParty.com. The images of the food pulled me in. This was what I wanted - esthetically pleasing with a very modern feel. I downloaded the menu and again, perfect. I had sent an email to set up a phone call. The reply back came within the hour. The meeting with Executive Chef, Liron Meller was set up quickly. I had asked Liron if he could provide a sampling of what may be available. He had surprised me by coming over to my place and cooking for me. The tasting was a great opportunity for me to finalize my menu choices as well become acquainted with Chef Meller. Liron has a great sense of style and was extremely patient. He was able to incorporate plates and other serving pieces that I had into his presentation. We collaborated on some of the smallest details such the right napkins. The ingredients were fresh and prepared with extreme care. Each Hors D'oeuvre had the right blend of spices, texture and visual excitement. I went with an assortment of hors d'oeuvres as well as a few table stations. My top picks were the Coconut Crusted Chicken, Pan Seared Tuna Tataki, Chicken Sate, Vietnamese Summer Rolls and The Spice Grilled Beef. The party in all honesty was flawless. Liron showed up early enough ease any stress his nervous host may have been feeling. My kitchen was transformed into a well-oiled machine. A stream of delicious appetizers flowed through the party all night. My guests were anxiously waiting to see what was coming next. I have to admit some level of guilt. Liron and his crew worked so hard, which left my role to enjoy the party, the food and my terrific guests. I assumed that role pretty quickly and the night was one to remember. My friends are still talking about the Pan Seared Tuna Tataki. Liron hasn't seen the last of my kitchen. |
